The annual Bradley Farm Haunted House will be resurrected this year on Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26. The annual haunted house, which raises money for Herndon-Reston FISH, is themed “Panic Attack: Confront Your Fears and Phobias.”

Herndon Resident Takes State Title in Clays Shootout

Herndon resident James McGowan emerged as top gun in the NSCA (National Sporting Clays Association) Virginia State Championship at Primland, taking the top prize of $1,000. He scored 187 out of 200 targets. The runner-up was Barry Moore Jr., of Pulaski, who shot a 185 and took home $500. Third place went to David Collins, Jr. of Ruther Glen. Only three targets separated first through third place.

Patterson, Meador Wed

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Meador of Clifton are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Holly, to Brett Patterson, son of Mac and Theresa Patterson of Herndon. The wedding was held at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine in Florida with the reception at the St. Francis Officers Club, June 8. The couple honeymooned in the Turks and Cacaos and now reside in Herndon. Holly is a graduate of Paul VI High School, Virginia Tech and is employed at Il Pioppo. Brett graduated from Westfield High School, George Mason University and works at Dunn & Phelps.

When Teri Cochrane’s son was 18 months old, he was diagnosed with asthma and placed on a variety of medications, including steroids. Less than two years later, doctors warned the Reston mother that he would have frequent seizures, would never have a normal childhood and would never grow taller than 5 feet 4 inches. When Cochrane’s daughter was born three years later, she also suffered from health problems, including chronic, severe abdominal pain.

Herndon Town Calendar Photos Chosen

Local photographers recognized at ArtSpace.

The walls of ArtSpace Herndon are currently decorated with almost 60 photos of Herndon’s signature moments. From large events such as the Herndon festival, to the simple pleasure of two children holding hands on a brisk fall day, local photographers submitted their shots for inclusion in the town’s annual calendar.

Summer Fun Camps Continue in Herndon

The Summer Fun Camps are held outdoors at Bready Park and indoors at the Herndon Community Center.

At the end of June, the Herndon Summer Fun Camps began operations at Herndon Community Center, with Harriet Van De Riet and a team of trained counselors directing. “All of our counselors have enrolled in college,” said Van De Riet.
